- Set attainable goals for yourself
Do not believe that just by practising a couple of hours a day can make you a great sportsman in no time. It takes time, and some basic skills should be learned before moving on into shooting three points or tough two points. Make your goals concrete, which also wont make you quit:
- Get used to running with the ball
- Shoot from the free throw line
- Learn the rules and adapt the right techniques from the beginning
In the old days, people were required to be a member of a club in order to learn the right rules and techniques in sports. Fortunately we now got YouTube, So we can watch training videos from amateurs and even professionals. Take a look at these videos down below, where different athletes are explaining about techniques and rules in basketball. If you adapt the right techniques from the beginning, it will be far easier for you to learn the more advanced aspects of a game later on!

3. Train regularly
We have said it in this blog post earlier and we will say it again. Your skills in a sport will not improve just because you train a couple of hours a day for some time and then suddenly stop practicing. It is far more important that you are consistent in your training. Even twenty minutes training a day can improve your skills just as long as you practise regularly!
4. Remember to look back
Every now and then we will lose our confidence and feel that we are moving nowhere. You should accept drawbacks once in a while. It is a well-known phenomenon in bodybuilding and should also be in sports like basketball and football. When this happens, remember why you started and how far you have got since. Small attainable goals might decrease the feeling of getting stuck!
